"Here come the lonely ones" - Contemplative Song

Lonelyonesjpg

After a very engaging and radical talk about ‘Contemplation and the Next Generation’, Rev. Vincent Pizzuto introduced one of his students that had composed a song that expressed what she had learned in his class.  Before I realized what was happening, I managed to turn on my recorder to capture the last verse of the song.  The audience began to sing along with the author which created a beautiful harmony which my recording barely captures, but that I hope you will get the feeling of and enjoy.  I have also included a copy of the lyrics.

Back home again...

The silence of that wonderful prayer room by the Bay came home with me. This is my prayer for all who shared in the Conference! I brought home with me a sense of redemptive goodness reaching out through unseen mechanisms in our brains, through yet un-charted social pathways in our relationships. In this troubled world, I have again heard the sound of hope. And I find I am looking forward to more wisdom from Fr. Thomas as he explores death itself. To all who made this conference possible by their work, by their lives, by their love, I give great thanks. Vivien Michals

Closing

Lord,
We pray this morning as we begin to close, to leave, and to begin
That you continue Your loving and intimate embrace of our souls, our hearts, and our minds,
That you continue to allow our awareness of Your presence in every moment.
May we carry that knowing in to the moments of our lives
As we begin this journey of a thousand steps.
In your name we pray
Amen.
